Where was this old and comfy cabin in the mointains where we sat by the fire? Or where was this steel blue lagoon where we camped under the millions of stars? Thanks to Fodysseus your pictures will now remember where they were taken. You will see them placed in Google Earth™ directly on the spot where they were taken. This is simly done by comparing the time stamps of your GPS data and of the pictures.
Fodysseus ist quick and easy to use. It works with pictures of common digital cameras. No expensive special camera is needed. All you need is an ordinary outdoor gps device with logging functionality.
Just enter your tracks and pictures into Fodysseus by drag&drop oer from the file explorer, click on the arrow to go on. Fodyssues will do the right settings in most cases. One more click and Google Earth™ will open and show your pictures and your tracks.
A lot of GPS devices save tracks and waypoints. The most common formats are the GPS Exchange Format GPX and the NMEA 0183 format. Fodysseus will work with both of them.
Digicams save their pictures as JPGs. JPG is able to save hidden header information (EXIF metadata). This is the place where a photo rememberes the date and time of the shot. Fodysseus uses this standard to save the geographic coordinates and the altitude from your GPS directly into your pictures. The position of exposure is now a hidden part of the JPG.
Test the free demo version now. It is limited to 5 pictures per run. Register the unlimited version online for 25 EUR or 25 USD (VAT included).
